Augusta University (AU) in partnership with The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD), is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Assistant Professor and Forensic Program Director, Psychologist at East Central Regional Hospital - Augusta. Georgia Regional Hospital – Augusta campus is located on 310 acres and operates a 260 licensed, accredited inpatient bed unit in three major program areas: Adult Mental Health, Forensic Services, and Developmental Disabilities.The Forensic Program Director is responsible for supervising forensic services provided for the 71 adult forensic services beds.

Responsibilities
Plans, organizes, directs, controls, coordinates, and evaluates the delivery of forensic services. Develops and manages the provision of inpatient forensic services at a state hospital and coordinates with the community for continuity of care for forensic individuals. Provides clinical direction to forensic services staff. Conducts court-ordered client evaluations, offers expert testimony and makes recommendations based on expertise. Compiles data and develops reports. Supervises professional staff, paraprofessional staff, and/or student interns and fellows. Serves as a member of the hospital management team. Plans and assists to develop and implement related policies and procedures. Assists to plan, organize, direct and coordinate the delivery of health services. Monitors and evaluates healthcare programs. Directs subordinate managers and staff.

Provides clinical leadership, direction, and supervision to the Forensic Services program in conjunction with the hospital's overall mission. Establishes and maintains cooperative working relationships with Augusta University, Department of Behavior Health and Developmental Disabilities, community, and judicial system staff and law enforcement agencies in the 48 regional areas served. Interviews, hires, directs, trains, evaluates the performance of, and when necessary, disciplines and discharges employees. Conducts court-ordered evaluations of clients to render an opinion as to the competency of the subject to stand trial, the degree of criminal responsibility; completes risk assessments and treatment needs. Oversees the timeliness of admission and discharge of forensic patients to ensure compliance with legal requirements. Supervises forensic psychologists and other recovery team members to ensure clinical appropriateness of treatment planning and programming of forensic patients. Oversee the maintenance and/or compilation of various information related to forensic services and report such data to the appropriate department/office. Prepares reports and recommendations for courts as requested and testifies to opinions formed during forensic evaluations. Participates in activities and programs that enhance the growth, development, and improvement of the organization. Participates in the development and administration of budgets. Performs administrative functions in support of hospital Forensic program. Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the field by reading appropriate books, journals, and other literature and attending pertinent seminars, conferences, and workshops as available. Applies relevant new knowledge to performance and other responsibilities.

Required Qualifications
Ph.D. or Psy.D. from an accredited college or university and a minimum ofthree years of management/supervisory experience in health care services.Must maintain a current psychology license in the state of Georgia.

Shift/Salary
Academic rank, tenure status and salaryto becommensurate with qualifications and experience of the selected candidate.
