Assistant Professor of Psychology / Assistant or Associate Professor of Psychology and Graduate Program Director, Master of Arts, I/O Psychology

Park University invites applications for a tenure track, Assistant Professor of Psychology with area of specialization open. This is a full-time, tenure track position, beginning January 1 or August 1, 2022.

The responsibilities of the position include teaching 24 credit hours/year, (or 4-4 teaching load) primarily face to face at our historic Parkville, Missouri campus, with possibility of teaching in our online program. Teaching areas will include Social Psychology, Statistics for Social Science and other courses in the area of candidate's specialty. In addition to teaching, duties of the successful candidate include participating in departmental and university service activities and engaging in research and scholarship.

The Department of Psychology and Sociology houses degrees in Psychology, Social Psychology, and Sociology, and an online Master of Arts in Industrial/Organizational Psychology program. With average class size under 25 students, faculty work closely with students and many courses are part of the liberal education program and serve other majors. We have a chapter of Psi Chi, Psychology Honor Society, an active Psychology and Sociology student club, and Honors Academy students in our programs. A Ph.D. degree in psychology is desired, with ABD candidates considered. Preferred qualifications include a record of effective teaching, multi-modality teaching experience, inclusive pedagogy, liberal arts focused educational principles, active scholarship record, and passion for reaching marginalized and historically underrepresented university students.

Additionally, Park University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in Industrial/Organizational Psychology (rank at assistant or associate level), who will teach both undergraduate (face to face) and graduate level (online) courses. The faculty member will also serve as the Program Director for Park's fully online Master of Arts in Industrial Organizational Psychology (MAIO) degree. The Program Director supports a group of adjuncts and is responsible for administrative tasks related to the online MAIO program, which comes with a teaching load adjustment. This is a full-time, tenure-track position beginning August 1, 2022, located in Parkville, Missouri.
