The Department of Psychiatry and Health Behavior, in the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University, is seeking to recruit a licensed Psychologist at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Section of Psychology at 1.0 FTE in support of the Ryan White funded HIV Behavioral Health Program. This individual will serve as the Director of the HIV Behavioral Health Program and the APA accredited doctoral psychology internship HIV/LGBTQ Health Disparities track within our nationally accredited internship program. The HIV Behavioral Health Director will provide and consultation, assessment, psychotherapy, and outreach services as well as program development for the behavioral health components of the Ryan White program. The HIV Behavioral Health team consists of the Director, an HIV mental health/substance abuse treatment navigator, the HIV/LGBTQ Health Disparities doctoral intern, rotating psychology interns, and a psychiatrist. The Director will function as part of an interdisciplinary treatment team of physicians, APPs, nurses, and social workers/treatment navigators who work to mitigate the deleterious impact of HIV on our community.

Responsibilities
The position is approximately 80% clinical services at the HIV clinic with remaining 20% devoted to teaching, service, scholarship, and other clinical endeavors through the Department of Psychiatry and Health Behavior.

Required Qualifications
Must have a doctorate degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an accredited university, an internship from an APA-approved program, completed a postdoctoral fellowship, be license eligible to practice independently in the state of GA and have clinical experience in evidenced-based approaches to working with people living with HIV and/or other chronic illnesses and marginalized populations in interdisciplinary settings.

Preferred Qualifications
A history of successful academic and scholarly activity related to HIV and LGBTQ populations, health disparities, and/or interdisciplinary care. Experience with teaching.

The Ryan White clinic serves over 1000 patients annually. This position emphasizes integrated practice and the intersection of health disparities, health beliefs, and culturally aware care. In addition to our nationally recognized, APA-accredited Psychology Internship Training Program, there are additional training opportunities available, including the ability to engage with postdoctoral fellows, medical students, and the psychiatry residency program. There is also opportunity to serve as an attending in the Equality Clinic of Augusta, a primary care, volunteer, student-run clinic for members of the LGBTQ+ community as well as participate in our active LGBTQ interdisciplinary research team.
