DESCRIPTION:


The Department of Psychology and Sociology invites applications for an Assistant Professor, tenure-track position of Psychology in either Counseling Psychology or General Experimental Psychology (to include biopsychology, neuropsychology, physiological psychology, etc.) beginning Fall 2023. For the counseling position, practical experience and graduation from an APA-accredited program are preferred and license eligible as a psychologist in Texas. Applicants should possess a Ph.D., but ABDs completing this academic year will be considered. Candidates should be committed to both undergraduate and graduate teaching, should possess successful experience working with and supporting diverse populations, and possess the ability to implement and integrate instructional technology in learning management systems. Teaching assignments are negotiable and may include a variety of courses across the curriculum. Salary is commensurate with rank, experience, and qualifications.

DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHOLOGY & SOCIOLOGY:


One of the largest departments in the College of Arts and Sciences, the department offers a BA in Psychology and Sociology and a BS in Criminology. Master's degrees are also offered in Psychology (general psychology and counseling psychology), Sociology and Criminology. The department also features minors in Anthropology, Southwest Borderland Studies, and Human Development and Family Studies
