About the Clinical Psychology Program at the Washington DC Campus

The Clinical Psychology Program at the Washington DC Campus is a flagship program at The Chicago School. The Washington DC program started in 2010 and is accredited by the American Psychological Association. The Role in Brief
The Assistant Director/Director of Clinical Training of the Clinical Psychology Program at the Washington DC Campus of The Chicago School oversees the practicum and internship training for students in our doctoral program in Clinical Psychology. Successful candidates will join a diverse and cohesive faculty of outstanding practitioner-scholars. The Assistant Director/Director of Clinical Training reports to the Department Chair.

This position will be based at the Washington DC Campus, with opportunities for flexible work arrangements. As noted below, this position also requires regular visits to training sites in the local area.

Note: Associate Director/Director of Clinical Training title and salary is determined on experience and skills.

Primary Areas of Responsibility
  • Support students in all aspects of their clinical training experiences, including site selection and review of application materials, and monitoring student progress and outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain a network of practicum sites, including visiting sites and building relationships with site supervisors.
  • Engage in site visits with existing sites for site maintenance, sites with student issues, and new sites for development (at least two sites per month).
  • Maintain a teaching load as assigned

    Qualifications:
  • Licensed clinical or counseling psychologist with a doctoral degree from an APA-accredited program
  • Experience with supervision and training of graduate-level students is preferred
  • Teaching experience at the graduate level is preferred
  • Valid driver's license and access to a car to visit training sites as needed
