Job Summary:

Reporting to the Clinical Director for the PMHI's Division of Colorado Springs Mental Health Services, this position is responsible for direct clinical care, teaching, supervision, and program development duties, with a focus on providing integrated behavioral health services to children, adolescents, and their families who are seen in medical subspecialty outpatient, inpatient, and/or primary care settings (work location will be determined based on organizational need and candidate experience). This is a faculty position with rank commensurate with the applicant's qualifications. This posting is for multiple integrated psychologist positions which will work in a variety of medical subspecialty clinics at the Children's Colorado Briargate Facility in Colorado Springs. Medical subspeciality clinic will be determined based on institutional need and candidate's experience and preferences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide integrated behavioral health services across medical ambulatory clinics, inpatient medical settings, and/or primary care settings throughout the Children's Hospital Colorado Springs system

  • Consult with pediatric medical teams around addressing behavioral health and environmental factors that impact child well-being including adherence, compliance, adjustment to medical diagnosis and treatment, mental health, behavioral, developmental, and family factors

  • Collaborate with medical teams, allied health professionals, resource partners including social work, family navigators, and community health liaisons to deliver comprehensive, team-based care

  • Use evidence-based assessment and treatment approaches for children and adolescents presenting with a wide range of medical, behavioral, developmental, and mental health concerns

  • Assist in developing, implementing, and evaluating behavioral health programming in healthcare settings

  • Engage in teaching, supervision, and scholarship, including collaboration on grants and contracts with hospital and community partners

    • Applicants must possess a Colorado Psychologist License or be eligible for licensure within the state of Colorado.

    • Musthave significant prior experience in pediatric psychology, providing integrated services in healthcare settings serving children and adolescents, have completed an APA-approved Ph.D. or Psy.D Psychology training program, including an APA-approved internship and a relevant post-doctoral fellowship.

    • Experience working with pediatric populations in healthcare settings and experience working with families

  • Assistant Professor:

    • 1-3 years of related clinical experience at rank or equivalent experience.

    • Minimum degree qualifications: PhD and/or PsyD

    • Applicants must possess a Colorado Psychologist License or be eligible for licensure within the state of Colorado.

    • Musthave significant prior experience in pediatric psychology, providing integrated services in healthcare settings serving children and adolescents, have completed an APA-approved Ph.D. or Psy.D Psychology training program, including an APA-approved internship and a relevant post-doctoral fellowship.

    • Experience working with pediatric populations in healthcare settings and experience working with families

  • Associate Professor:

    • 4-7 years of related clinical experience at rank or equivalent experience.

    • Minimum degree qualifications: PhD and/or PsyD

    • Applicants must possess a Colorado Psychologist License or be eligible for licensure within the state of Colorado.

    • Musthave significant prior experience in pediatric psychology, providing integrated services in healthcare settings serving children and adolescents, have completed an APA-approved Ph.D. or Psy.D Psychology training program, including an APA-approved internship and a relevant post-doctoral fellowship.

    • Experience working with pediatric populations in healthcare settings and experience working with families

    • Must obtain Medical staff privileges at Children's Hospital system locations.



  • Professor:

    • 7+ years of related clinical experience at rank or equivalent experience.

    • Minimum degree qualifications: PhD and/or PsyD

    • Applicants must possess a Colorado Psychologist License or be eligible for licensure within the state of Colorado.

    • Musthave significant prior experience in pediatric psychology, providing integrated services in healthcare settings serving children and adolescents, have completed an APA-approved Ph.D. or Psy.D Psychology training program, including an APA-approved internship and a relevant post-doctoral fellowship.

    • Experience working with pediatric populations in healthcare settings and experience working with families

    • Must obtain Medical staff privileges at Children's Hospital system locations.




Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated skills in the use ofdevelopmentally and diagnostically appropriate screening and assessment tools

  • Demonstrated skills using evidence-based treatment models including but not limited motivational interviewing, consultation models, and flexible application of behavioral and developmental interventions to address medical and mental health concerns

  • 1-3 years serving as a supervisor for psychology trainees

  • Experience and skill in consulting with professional colleagues and healthcare staff

  • Ability to deliver services in Spanish is strongly preferred


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Clinical skill is required for conducting brief and targeted assessments and consultations in integrated healthcare settings

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team model and with colleagues, medical specialists, and trainees

  • Capacity for flexibility and adaptability in different work situations

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including presentations to community audiences

  • Ability to work effectively on multiple tasks and maintain a well-organized work environment

  • Experience supervising psychology trainees

  • Knows and applies best practices in diversity and inclusion practices and has knowledge and understands cultural differences

  • Commitment to multiculturalism, diversity, equity, inclusion, and experience with diverse pediatric populations


Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:

Instructor:The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $105,000 to $115,000.

Senior Instructor:The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $105,000 to $115,000.

Assistant Professor: The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $105,000 to $115,000.

Associate Professor:The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $130,000 to $140,000.

Professor:The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $162,000 to $200,000.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
